Prostate Cancer Quote: Robert De Niro

Prostate Cancer Quote: Robert De Niro

Robert De Niro Quote on Life

Robert De Niro was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2003. The cancer was detected early so he continued to live a full life ever since. Though he is not quoted specifically regarding cancer, De Niro often reflects on life as being too short, perhaps because of his father’s death from cancer in 1993 and his own brush with cancer. The following reflection could be considered valid in regard to prostate or any other cancer.

Prostate Cancer Quote by Robert De Niro

Prostate cancer is a type of malignant tumor that occurs in the prostate which is located in men below the bladder and near the rectum. The prostate is responsible for the production of a fluid, called semen, that is expelled with sperm during ejaculation. It is a common disease among older men.

Many celebrities have been diagnosed with prostate cancer including New York Yankees manager Joe Torre, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, comedian Jerry Lewis, former senator Bob Dole, and retired United States Army general Norman Schwarzkopf Jr.

De Niro reminds us that life is indeed too short in this quote, “Time goes on. So, whatever you’re going to do, do it. Do it now. Don’t wait.”

  1. Thank you for the Robert De Niro quote. I am an artist/musician known as The Saxoffender. I use The Art Of Rock’n’Roll for humanitarian causes. Prostate Cancer Awareness is one of my primary causes, with Frank Zappa as the mascot. Zappa is the ‘warning’; a creative genius taken too soon. Bill Wyman is the ‘success story’: he faced the music. Now he is cured. As with Mr De Niro. I have just finished two major paintings of Frank Zappa and Bill Wyman. I am about to post them on Instagram (@sophiedowney6). I have put up a number of my Prostate Posters on account of Fathers Day. You are welcome to use the quotes. This journey has exhausted my savings, so I can’t offer to paint Robert De Niro for free with a view to creating a prostate message with my painting of him. Too many people have abused my benevolence. But when someone respects what I do, what I have sacrificed to do it, and the authenticity with which I do it, I believe the mystique surrounding the disease could be destroyed. This is one form of cancer that can be cured. Rock’n’roll is the way to broadcast the message. I’ve started the process, but I need support. Can’t bring about cultural change one handed. More men need to take the advice Bill Wyman gives in my painting of him. “Learn To Live With Sticky Fingers”.
