He shares his story, explaining how he was diagnosed and what the doctor told him about his cancer: it was not expected to grow quickly. But if it’s cancer, it must be extremely serious? Not necessarily. In cases where the prostate cancer is detected in an initial and early stage, and if the cancer is not expected to grow quickly, you may not need any kind of treatment, you will just need to monitor your cancer. That’s called active surveillance. You basically need to monitor your cancer on a regular schedule to see if it becomes more aggressive and might require treatment.
